So I noticed it has been quite a while since my last post, so here we go. Today is pretty much a typical Saturday here at the Twister. I am doing my live shift and playing the new Jason Aldean at the moment. We have a remote going on, which requires some additional work to simply being on the air. I am also on-line listening to a new country artisted named Jacqueline Rose. I just happened across her page. She is not bad, although I am not sure it is actually country, but you Be your own judge. Other than that, just taking phone calls, playing some good country music for the fine people of OKC!
Do you ever feel as though you have lost your focus? By focus I am referring to your direction, motivation, and or drive. It isn't that you have given up on your dreams or goals, it is just that in the short term things seem to be stagnate and predictable. You go to bed each night wondering when you will have that feeling of productivity back. When you will once again feel as though you are making things happen, moving forward, or that you have taken one more step toward where you want to be.
This is such a dangerous position to be in. The problem is that it isn't always a reflection of your level of motivation. Sometimes circumstances in our lives keep us out of focus. For instance, I am one semester away from finishing my MBA and I feel as though I am doing nothing. I know it is only three months from now that I will be done and ready to start my career, but I feel as though I lost my focus a long time ago. Having to survive boring classes and do meaningless work caused me to get caught in this trance so to speak. The problem, is that it doesn't just affect your productivity in that particular area, it affects your total lifestyle.
One thing I am having to learn is that sometimes we have to shake it up a bit. Keep your self guessing. Identify the problem areas and work to change them, regardless of what is going on currently. Easier said than done I know.
Thursday and Friday I am going to be live during the afternoons show (3pm to 7pm) for Buff while he is out of town. If you haven't heard, the Twister is now the number 1 radio station in OKC overall with the number 1 afternoons show as well. That means that tomorrow and Friday, I get to do that number 1 show in town. WOW! I just realized how lucky I am to be apart of the Twister. Here I am getting to do the number 1 afternoons show in town for two days. I have never really thought about it before. What a blessing. Also, if you haven't heard, the Work Release Program is now by request. So, if you have a song you want to hear Thursday or Friday, call me up at 460-1019 and be apart of the show with me. See ya then.
